Dear Pre-K Families,
Thank you all for your flexibility and patience as we continue to support you virtually. My role as the Director of Early Childhood is to provide young children with a sound foundation for educational success.
The entire administrative team is here to support you along with our teaching teams, please reach out if you need us. Some teachers will be offline April 9th–April 17th for Spring Break.
Spring into Learning packets are included here to provide you with activities that you can do at home with your child.
Our teaching teams will utilize Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom for remote learning as Zoom is no longer an acceptable platform. All families should log in using their individual DOE accounts for security purposes.
I will continue to meet with our Parent Leaders across our district to surface questions and resources that will support this work. Our website has a plethora of information to support Remote Learning 2020. We ask that you take some time to explore each tab and navigate your way around our website.
School is in session, just remotely! During the student’s time at home, teaching teams will have ongoing wellness check-ins with the families, along with interactive engagements. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher as needed. Teachers will post their office hours between 8:40 am and 3:00 pm. In this ever-changing world, I thank you for your flexibility, patience, and compassion. My priorities as a leader is to continue to be transparent, collaborative, compassionate, and provide clear communication in a timely fashion.
We are doing our best to keep all families updated and endeavor to ensure that students can connect with their teachers and each other. This is a new teaching and learning experience for most of us and we appreciate your patience during this time of transition. We are treading in uncharted waters and appreciate your continued support and partnership.

REMOTE LEARNING – AUDIO & VIDEO CONSENT
Google Meet and Microsoft Teams sufficiently support the New York City Department of Education’s diverse virtual conferencing needs, while also providing the necessary privacy protections for our students, as they are both HIPAA- and FERPA-compliant for use for all DOE students using a DOE-issued identity and password.
By allowing your child to participate in an individual or group virtual conference led by a staff member of our Pre-K Center, you agree and understand that audio/video recording of any such conference is not permissible by the participating child or child’s relatives, caretakers, or friends. Any recording made by separate devices is also not permissible, as is subsequent posting or distributing of these sessions onto social media. If discovered, this may result in consequences affecting future online access/participation.
